Blackface is serving drama on his Instagram account by dredging up the old rift between him and former group mate, Tuface Idibia. The Ahead of The Game crooner called out Tuface, accused him of a number of things, and said that Tuface would never have had a big hit had he not used songs written by him.

He went on to accuse Tuface of taking his songs without his permission, calling him a "tufaced being" a "lazy artist despite all your gifts".
He also brought up the issue of the protest which Tuface had planned to support earlier in the year. Blackface, in his rant, accused Tuface of carrying out the protest for selfish reasons, with the ultimate aim of lining his pocket.

The call out started after @emperormas tweeted that Tuface has been singing about Blackface in all his songs. Blackface obviously agreed with this because he shared a screenshot on his page and in the caption he called Tuface names and accused him of sabotage.

Malala Yousafzai becomes youngest honorary citizen of Canada

A few days after she was named the youngest ever UN Messenger of Peace, Malala Yousafzai has been honored once again. This time the honour is in far away Canada.

Syrian chemical attack victim lashes out at CNN's Brooke Baldwin for trying to make him criticize Trump

An interview on CNN with a Syrian chemical attack victim did not go as expected as the guest lashed out, criticizing the host of the show, Obama, and other Americans criticizing Trump for dropping a bomb in Syria in retaliation for the recent chemical attack on the citizens of Syria.
CNN anchor, Brook Baldwin had a skype interview with Syrian Kassam Eid, who survived a 2013 chemical attack on Syria, to discuss recent occurences in Syria.

As the interview progressed, Kassam praised Trump's decision to fire missiles at Bashar al-Assad in retaliation for him attacking his own people. At a point, Brook brought up issues of Trump's travel ban on certain countries of which Syria was one of them, expecting Kassam to object to the ban like most people have, but he turned the table and instead  accused Brooke, Obama and other Americans of inaction.

Brooke started by saying:

"Clearly President Trump was motivated, as we all have compassion for these just horrible images of these babies who were killed. At the same time, this is a man who doesn't want Syrians to come to this country with this refugee ban."

To buttress her point, she played a clip in which Hillary Clinton says that President Trump should be more accepting of refugees and said:

"We cannot, in one breath, speak of protecting Syrian babies and in the next, close America's doors to them".

However, Kassam did not share her sentiment and he did not mince words as he told Brook that Syrian did not need anyone letting them into America, instead what they want is for Syria to be made a safe zone so that the citizens can stay home in their country.

"With all due respect," he began, "I didn't see each and every person who was demonstrating after the travel ban, I didn't see you three days ago when people were gassed to death. I didn't see you in 2013. I didn't see you raising your voice against President Obama's inaction in Syria that made us refugees get kicked out of Syria.  If you really care about refugees, if you really care about helping us, please help us stay in our country."

He continued:

 "We don't want to come to the United States. We want to stay in our country. With all due respect, this is hypocrisy, if you really care, help us stay in our country. We don't want to become refugees, help us establish safe zones. We want to stay in our country".

Kassam took it further by thanking President Trump, and said that he supports the efforts that he is making in the Middle East. He also thanked all of Trump's supporters and anyone who voted for him.

Fayemi living in fool’s paradise, he never won any election in Ekiti– Fayose’s aide

The Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Mr. Lere Olayinka, has said that the Minister of Mines and Steel Development and former governor of the State, Dr Kayode Fayemi never won any election in Ekiti and that he is only a democrat by court appointment, adding that:

“He will continue to live in the fool’s paradise concerning his scandalous defeat in the June 21, 2014 governorship election.”

Olayinka, who was reacting to Fayemi’s statement on Saturday that “at the appropriate time, he (Governor Fayose) would meet his comeuppance (punishment),” described Fayemi as a “serial betrayal of confidence whose political future will remain bleak, having betrayed his number one political benefactor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.” 

“If there is anyone that deserves to meet both physical and divine punishment, that person is Kayode Fayemi, who plunged Ekiti State into debt by stealing the state blind and betrayed someone like Asiwaju Tinubu, who made him governor,” Olayinka said.

He declared that:

“Since Fayemi has never won any election in Ekiti and he became governor through judicial manipulation, he can never appreciate democracy. Even the primary election that gave him the Action Congress (AC) governorship ticket in 2006 was manipulated in his favour.”

The governor’s spokesperson, who challenged Fayemi to file his case at the Supreme Court, said; “We will meet him there and surely, he will be defeated as usual.”

Olayinka challenged Fayemi to come out openly to declare his intention to contest the 2018 governorship, reiterating that;
“He (Fayemi) remains a hard-sell in Ekiti.” He reiterated that; 'in saner climes, a man like Fayemi, who was indicted by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) for illegally withdrawing the sum of N852.9 million from the State Universal Education Board (SUBEB) account, making UBEC to suspend Ekiti State from accessing any further FGN-UBE Intervention Fund will be burying his head in shame'.

“Like I have maintained, Fayemi failed Ekiti people, including majority of his party members  as governor, as a minister, he is also failing Ekiti people because up till today, he cannot point to one benefit Ekiti has derived from having him as minister of Mines and Steel Development.”

Lagos state government denies reports that the epidemic meningitis disease had killed two residents

The Lagos state government has denied reports that two persons were recently killed by the epidemic Cerebro Spinal Meningitis disease that has claimed over 400 lives. The Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) on Friday released a statement claiming that three residents of the state had contacted the disease and that two of such persons have died from complications from the disease(Read here).

The Lagos state Ministry of Health has however refuted this claim, stating that there is no truth to it. In a statement released by the Ministry's director, public affairs, Adeola Salako, the state Commissioner of Health, Jide Idris says  the report was false and capable of causing undue panic. According to Idris, the cases of Meningitis recorded in the state are the non-epidemic ones which is different from the strain of the disease that has killed over 400 persons in some states.

“The report is untrue and does not represent the reality of the situation in Lagos state as at today. For the avoidance of doubt, there are two main types of meningitis. The epidemic prone meningitis, which is referred to as cerebrospinal meningitis (CSM), is caused by a bacteria called neisseria meningitides. Its occurrence is seasonal or cyclical, depending on the level of herd immunity and climatic conditions. The second type of meningitis is non-epidemic meningitis, which is usually caused by a virus or other bacteria, but not by neisseria meningitides. The non-epidemic meningitis occurs without any seasonal pattern or periodicity.”

According to Idris, a disease surveillance notification officer in the Lagos Island local government, reported nine suspected cases of meningitis from Massey Street Children Hospital with two deaths in March this year. He said, however, that none of these was confirmed as due to CSM.

“Although, all the nine cases presented with clinical features of meningitis at that hospital, laboratory tests proved that they were either due to Haemophilus influenza or Streptococcus pneumoniae and not Neisseria meningitides. The ministry was also notified last week of a three-year-old boy, presenting clinically as meningitis at a registered private facility in Lagos, but the laboratory investigations did not confirm CSM. The blood culture yielded no growth but the urine culture yielded Klebsiella and not meningococcus; the patient is already responding to treatment. None of these cases, presented with a history of recent travel to any area with an outbreak of meningitis and neither were visits from such areas recorded with the aforementioned cases.’’

The commissioner urged all residents of the state to maintain a high level of hygiene during this period of the outbreak. According to him, such hygiene measures should include washing of hands with soap and water frequently and thoroughly.

“Also, avoid direct contact with the discharges from an infected person and covering of mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing. It is strongly advised that people should avoid overcrowding in living quarters, provide cross ventilation in sleeping and work-rooms and other places where many people come together. People should get vaccinated with CSM vaccine when they travel to areas where meningitis outbreaks have been reported’’ he said

Woman arrested for leaving her disabled ex-boyfriend in the woods to freeze to death

A Georgia woman, 27-year-old Ruby Kate Coursey , has been charged with the murder of her ex-boyfriend, 33 year old Troymaine Johnson, according to Upson County Sheriff Dan Kilgore. Coursey has been charged with felony murder and neglect of a disabled adult after allegedly pushing him out of her car and leaving him at a hunting camp to fend for himself.
The GBI Crime Lab determined Johnson’s cause of death was homicide due to hypothermia.

His body was found at the hunting camp in the woods off Triune Mill Road on March 17 – four days after he was last seen.

The sheriff’s office found him after receiving a tip from Coursey's brother and sister-in-law, who told them Coursey said she had left a man in the woods.

At the time, she was taken into custody for an outstanding probation warrant and not charged in his death pending the results of the autopsy.

Troymaine Johnson, a paraplegic who did not have use of his legs and only had partial use of one arm, was last seen alive March 14, when his ex-girlfriend Coursey allegedly picked him up to go for a ride or trip to the store, leaving his wheelchair at home, rather than take him to the store, Coursey allegedly drove to a hunting campground about 70 miles south of Atlanta, left Johnson next to a camper and drove off.

Records show temperatures at that time had plunged into the mid-20s. "Those were some of the coldest nights in recent days," Kilgore said in the release.

When the autopsy result came out, she was charged Monday with murder and neglect of a disabled adult — both felonies. 

A motive for the alleged killing was unclear, officials said. Johnson, who was affectionately known as "Troy," was remembered as a talented rapper as well as a funny and kindhearted man, WMAZ-TV reported.

“He could just see somebody and start rapping about them right off the top,” his cousin Sade Owens told the television station.

The sheriff’s office found him after receiving a tip from Coursey's brother and sister-in-law, who told them Coursey said she had left a man in the woods.

At the time, she was taken into custody for an outstanding probation warrant and not charged in his death pending the results of the autopsy.

Troymaine Johnson, a paraplegic who did not have use of his legs and only had partial use of one arm, was last seen alive March 14, when his ex-girlfriend Coursey allegedly picked him up to go for a ride or trip to the store, leaving his wheelchair at home, rather than take him to the store, Coursey allegedly drove to a hunting campground about 70 miles south of Atlanta, left Johnson next to a camper and drove off.

Records show temperatures at that time had plunged into the mid-20s. "Those were some of the coldest nights in recent days," Kilgore said in the release.

When the autopsy result came out, she was charged Monday with murder and neglect of a disabled adult — both felonies. 

A motive for the alleged killing was unclear, officials said. Johnson, who was affectionately known as "Troy," was remembered as a talented rapper as well as a funny and kindhearted man, WMAZ-TV reported.

“He could just see somebody and start rapping about them right off the top,” his cousin Sade Owens told the television station.
